A Winning Combination of Strength, Mobility, and Flexibility for Your Neck for Less Pain, Greater Health, Improved Posture and Performance

In as Little as 5 Minutes Per Week

Most people neglect the neck in their training, despite it being such an important area with the job of supporting your head every waking moment.

Are you neglecting it too?

Do You Fear Training Your Neck?

Everyone has had a strain in their neck at some point. So many think that training the neck is likely to make that common.

But I assure you, when trained smartly, the exact opposite is the case.

I’ve never strained my neck in a painful way during training despite years of working my neck in these ways.

And I seem to have far less neck problems (like waking up with a kink in my neck) than other people that don’t train their neck.

The Antidote to “Text Neck" a Growing Chronic Problem

"Text neck" is a term used to describe a repetitive strain injury or discomfort in the neck caused by excessive use of handheld devices such as smartphones and tablets. This condition arises from the posture typically adopted while using these devices, often hunching over or bending the neck forward for prolonged periods.

The prevalence of text neck has been rising because of pervasive device use.

It contributes to a range of symptoms including neck pain, stiffness, soreness, and headaches. Chronic cases might lead to inflammation, nerve irritation, and even herniated disks or arthritis over time.

There are specific exercises that work in opposition to this movement that can help to correct it…

The Benefits of Neck Training

Neck training offers a variety of health and fitness benefits. Here are seven key advantages:

  1. Improved Posture: Regular neck training can help strengthen the muscles around the neck and upper back, leading to better posture.

  2. Reduced Neck Pain: Strengthening and mobilizing the neck muscles can alleviate tension and reduce chronic neck pain.

  3. Injury Prevention: A well-conditioned neck can help protect the cervical spine during accidents or impacts, such as in sports or vehicle collisions.

  4. Enhanced Athletic Performance: For athletes, a strong and mobile neck is vital for optimal performance, especially in sports like wrestling, football, and rugby where the neck is frequently engaged.

  5. Headache Relief: Tension in the neck and upper back can lead to tension headaches. Strengthening and stretching these areas can reduce their occurrence.

  6. Increased Balance and Coordination: A strong neck contributes to overall balance and body awareness.

  7. Stress Relief: Neck stretches and exercises can help release tension accumulated from stress, promoting relaxation and a sense of well-being.

You definitely don’t want to end up as an elderly person with kyphosis, also called the dowager’s hump!

The Research is Clear: Strengthening the Neck Reduces Chronic Neck Pain

Many people suffer from chronic pain in this area. Yet so many seldom think that more movement is the way out of it…

But the research shows exactly this. For instance, in Assessment of Chronic Neck Pain and a Brief Trial of Cervical Strengthening[1], they found “Neck flexor muscle strengthening resulted in positive changes in pain, neck disability index, range of motion, and strength, but not tenderness.”

Another study, Effect of neck strength training on health-related quality of life in females with chronic neck pain: a randomized controlled 1-year follow-up study[2], not only looked at chronic pain but overall quality of life too! One year of training led to less pain and better living. Specifically, they found that strength training, more so than lighter work, led to better outcomes.

Besides looking at chronic pain, there is a lack of research looking at this area. Based on my experience, I’d be willing to bet a large sum of money that…

Neck mobility and strength would be correlated with less death from all causes…just like things such as cardiovascular fitness, grip strength, overall flexibility, mobility, and many other things are.

The Neck is One of the MOST Mobile Joints…and Widely Underutilized

  • The neck can extend forward and back
  • The neck can flex from side to side.
  • The neck can glide forward and back, side to side.
  • The neck can turn side to side.
  • The neck can elevate and depress.

When you combine these various planes of motion the neck is the most mobile of joints, short only of the shoulder or fingers.

And yet, most people would be lacking in range of motion through the cervical spine.

The combination of them into a specific practice helps to work out all the kinks and tension.

Why Bodyweight Exercise is Key for the Neck

You don’t need a special harness neck training device.

You don’t need to use weights or bands.

Simply using self-resistance or your bodyweight in the right ways is more than enough for the average trainee.

(Now, I do advocate for the use of weights in some progressions but that is on top of a bodyweight foundation as seen in my feats. These points are made clear inside the program.)

No, this is not a program JUST about the wrestler’s bridge. Truth is, I’ve found some different exercises I like even more for the neck than the classic hold (though yes that is covered).

I’ve Supported Half a Ton on Top of Myself in a Wrestler’s Bridge

Why am I qualified to teach about this? Truth is, I know a thing or two about neck strength…

Here I am with over 1,000 pounds on top of me while in a wrestler’s bridge, the weight being loaded on top of my head.

Over the years I’ve done this feat in many shapes and sizes.

While most people focus on the hair aspect of my pulling a firetruck, the difficult part wasn’t the hair, which altogether is as strong as a rope, but the neck strength involved in supporting the load being carried by such!

Yes, this program will give you the foundation you would need to be able to do crazy feats of neck strength like these.

But I know that is NOT what most people want.

You do not have to have ANY aspirations to do such things to benefit from Supple Strength Neck Training.

It’s just that experience, and much more, gets delivered in this program.

Modular Add-On: Attach this Neck Program to ANY Other Training Program

Whether you’re working with a program from some coach, online, or have built something yourself…

There’s a good chance it doesn’t include neck training in it!

Here’s the good news. All you need to do is bolt this program on top of it.

This can literally add 4-10 minutes a week of training time for your neck and that is ALL you need.

I even did an advanced workout the other day…Advanced Routine #3, that took only about two minutes that you’ll see in the videos!

This modularity helps you to easily add this easily on top of whatever else you’re doing.

The Resilient Neck Regimen

I’ll give you my bare-bones two to three exercise neck training programs that will build neck strength stronger than 99% of people suitable for:

  • Beginner
  • Intermediate
  • Advanced

You won’t find some of these exercises anywhere else…because I invented them.

It really can be this simple to build a strong neck. Again somewhere around five minutes per week is ALL you need.

Even More Inside...

Some additional things you’ll discover:

  • A key differentiator in isometric training that you need to know to apply to the neck specifically
  • Understanding leverage for progression
  • Why most cervical mobility, when it is even taught at all, is missing half the range of motion.
  • Do you actually need neck mobility and flexibility? The answer might surprise you…
  • The “laying neck release” that I do daily
  • Why I mostly stopped doing the wrestler’s bridge for neck training, except for these variations for these reasons…and what I’m doing instead
  • How to use gravity to aid in stretching and strengthening your neck
  • The value plus how to get your neck training in before you even get out of bed in the morning
  • The 3-minute anti-text neck regiment for office workers and phone users
  • The what-the-heck effect of neck training I stumbled on one day in relation to grip strength

Who Is This For?

If you have a neck, then I’d advocate for you to learn how to use it!

Who Is This Not For?

If you have specific cervical spine issues, I do not know if all the exercises in this program are appropriate for you. Some very likely would be, but others might be contraindicated.

I cannot tell you what would and would not work specifically for your case.

You are entitled to try it for yourself and see, or consult with a doctor, physical therapist, or whoever else you’d like and make your own judgment. I advocate for you learning how to listen to YOUR body via something like my program Beyond Biofeedback.

#2 - The primary exercise I have used over the year to build a strongman level neck

I also take in my bedroom to show you:

#4 - How to do bedroom isometrics for your neck with a special benefit the bed brings

And since we’re at the neck, I figured I’d cover an even lesser used part of the body too…

#5 - Jaw mobility and strength (including the best exercises that professional boxers have used for centuries)

Do I Need This if I Have XYZ?

There is some overlap in Supple Strength Neck Training with some of my other programs.

Advanced Bridging Course – The wrestler’s bridge is covered in this course, but more developments on what I use even more than it, today. This course covers no gymnastic bridging, nor the gymnastic, dynamic movements such as kickovers. That course is complicated. This course is aimed towards simplicity.

Indestructible Body – That covers the neck in some fair detail, but essentially this course takes what is there and goes much further. That is 50% while this course is 100% at least in relation to the neck.

Intuitive Mobility – This course covers the neck amongst everything else. Everything mobility-wise for the cervical area is covered here with finer detail, but not as much on what it takes to build towards full intuitive mobility.

Two of those are over a decade old. The other is six years old, so I’ve certainly learned some new things since their creation.

If you have one or more of those, I leave the choice up to you. But, of course, as a neck-specific training program, this is the deepest dive on the subject area I’ve ever made.

Neck Training Simplified

This covers my two decades of neck training experience distilled down to about 100 minutes of video.

It’s distilled down to two-minute follow-along mobility videos or two to three exercise workouts that you can do once per week.

If you want to learn the methods that have helped deliver great neck strength, free from pain, then now’s your opportunity.
